Austin modders, represent! Okay, I promise, that is the last time I'll ever say something like that. Ahem. Anyhow, now that I've regained my journalistic composure (or sanity), let's get back to business.

Those of you who have been around the forum for an age or so know that the name TechDaddy is synonymous with quality, flashy paint jobs, and top notch details. He's been around our forums a long time, been featured on our front page several times and just never stops finding new heights.

Some of you will remember his Boss-FX57 mod from 2006, with its muscle car inspired leanings. He's yet again found inspiration in the automobile direction, but this time TechDaddy is going for a different type of style altogether.

The paintjob and overall design of Deuce was inspired by the flame-licked paintjob of this HotWheels toy. Right from the first hole in the side panel of the Thermaltake Armor, TechDaddy is starting with the flames...

TechDaddy started off with some metallic blue for the internal frame, and a glossy black for the outside. Here's a tip straight from the man himself - if you're in an airy desert climate and you don't have sufficient room in your garage for hanging and drying, just use your gutters!

Of course, gloss black on the outside wouldn't much be the TechDaddy way. Instead, a lot of airbrushed flame would be added - which required a bit of learning curve for him. The layered flame job will get many more additions as time goes on.

Adding to the flame motif is the custom radiator holder, which will support his 240mm radiator on the top of the chassis. Initially there were mumblings of laser cutting, but TechDaddy eventually manned up and grabbed his Dremel to get the job done.

Even the video cards got some special loving with their own acrylic shrouds. Yes, note two cards and two very slick looking shrouds. And of course, there's the obligatory teaser pic...

This little writeup doesn't even broach some of TechDaddy's finer accomplishments such as the front-mounted reservoirs or awesome wiring harnesses throughout the mod. So take a closer look at his worklog to get your fill.

And in the meantime, if a mod like this gets your engine revving then make sure to stop by and cast a vote for Deuce as July's Mod of the Month!
